The Induction will give an overview of Grid technology and will present some running projects.
  • Welcome and Overview
  • EGEE project (Prof. David Horn (TAU, IL)) - Project overview and possibilities to join and cooperate with the project.
  • Participants will experience working on (2) different systems:
  • GILDA (Dr. Roberto Barbera (INFN, IT))- Virtual laboratory to demonstrate/disseminate the strong capabilities of grid computing.
  • Condor (Prof. Miron Livny (Wisc, USA)) - The goal of the Condor Project is to develop, implement, deploy, and evaluate mechanisms and policies that support High Throughput Computing (HTC) on large collections of distributive owned computing resources..
  • Data Mining on distributed environment (Prof. Assaf Schuster (Technion, IL))

  Facilities and Remarks
  • Advised to bring laptop with wireless card and super user (or administrator) for each participant.
  • Lunch and refreshments will be served.
